The WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational, previously the FedEx St Jude Classic, is a professional golf tournament held in Memphis, Tennessee as a regular event on the PGA Tour. The tournament was held annually from 1958 through 2018, and was played in June at TPC Southwind since 1989.
It was once the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, but the tournament sponsorship was taken by FedEx in 2018, bringing this golf event to Memphis. Then the tournament changed its name to WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
The relocated WGC golf event continues the charitable relationship with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, benefited by the St. Jude Classic.
Grupo Salinas, Dell Technologies, FedEx and HSBC are the umbrella sponsors of the World Golf Championships. Rolex is the official sponsor. Fields for the World Golf Championships are filled primarily through the Official World Golf Rankings, which is endorsed by all the sport’s major professional organizations and governing bodies, and individual Tours’ tournament winners as well as leaders of Tours’ official money lists/orders of merit.
The St Jude Golf Tournament field includes the top 50 golf players in the Official World Golf Rankings. Past St Jude golf tournaments have drawn headliners including Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka and last year’s winner Justin Thomas.
