It’s fitting that such an exciting day is loaded with quality, as fifteen players will start today’s final round within five strokes of the lead.
That lead is held by Scottie Scheffler who leads the way by two from Nick Taylor and Jon Rahm.

Scheffler maintains lead, several make moves in behind
Scheffler won this tournament twelve months ago and it sparked a run of form that saw him become the world’s best player and win the Masters Tournament.
Keen to repeat last year’s success, Scheffler ensured he would be the man to beat today with a measured 68 in yesterday’s third round. While it wasn’t spectacular, Scheffler was able to limit the mistakes, dropping just one stroke. He will head into today’s final round knowing that a two-stroke lead won’t be enough and he will need to play some really good golf to keep the chasing pack at bay.
The chasing pack is spearheaded by two men at different ends of the PGA Tour. Jon Rahm has maintained his excellent start to the year and has put himself in a fantastic position to win his third PGA Tour title of 2023.
Rahm’s third round started poorly as he dropped a shot on the first hole but he then showed all of his quality to score four birdies on his way to shooting a 68.
He is joined on -11 by Canadian Nick Taylor. Taylor headed into the week ranked 223 in the world. He is twice a winner on Tour with his last victory coming in the 2020 AT&T Championship.
Despite some illustrious names around him, Taylor showed no signs of nerves yesterday shooting a superb -4, 67.
Jordan Spieth is tucked in just behind Rahm and Taylor and will start today three off the lead, whilst Xander Schaufelle, Sung Jae-Im, Rickie Fowler, and Tyrell Hatton will all start the final round four strokes back.

Heading into today’s final round with a two-stroke lead has made Scottie Scheffler the heavy favorite for victory. Golf Odds of -105 reflect the strong position the defending champion finds himself in. If you are looking for value it could pay to look elsewhere and there are some interesting alternatives.
Jordan Spieth has birdied 13 of his last 36 holes and looks to have his putter in red-hot form. The odd silly error has seen Spieth make bogeys at the wrong time and he will need to eradicate them today. Spieth won’t be deterred by facing a three-stroke deficit and could be a great angle at odds of +1000.
Xander Schaufelle has enjoyed consistent success at this tournament having posted a third and second-place finish in the last two years. He finds himself just outside the top 5 heading into today’s final round and will be confident of making a run. Golf Odds of +2000 could be the best value option of the day.
Two former giants of the game are enjoying a positive start to 2023 with Jason Day and Rickie Fowler looking like they are close to rediscovering their best form. Both have played well through three rounds and find themselves teeing off four shots behind the leaders. Day and Fowler know what is needed to compete and win the biggest tournaments and golf odds of +3300 could be worth a second look.
