Despite the best intentions of the weather, the third round of this year’s 3M Open was eventually completed with long-time leader Scott Piercy holding a four-stroke lead heading into today’s final round, and the 3M Open Odds for the final round.
Piercy started the day with a three-stroke lead and produced some superb golf to extend his lead to four shots following a controlled and assured 66.
Chasing the American is Argentine Emiliano Grillo. Grillo teed off with a Piercy in yesterday’s final pairing and despite a solid 67, has a lot to do if he is to overturn the lead.
A shot further behind Grillo and five behind Piercy are the American pair of Tony Finau and Doug Ghim.
Both Ghim and Finau played some great golf with both players recording -6 under rounds of 65. It was a birdie blitz from this dynamic duo, and they were able to keep their cards completely clean with both players not incurring a single dropped shot. If they are to reel in Piercy more of the same will be needed today.
It’s likely that the winner of this event will come from the four players we have mentioned. However, there will be some players in the field who will be carrying some great form and momentum into today’s final round.
The round of the day belonged to Greyson Sigg who scored an impressive -7, 64. The American is ranked at 212 in the world and is looking to make his PGA Tour breakthrough. Although he will start the day 7 strokes behind Piercy, he will be hoping he can match his display from yesterday and throw himself into the mix.
First-round leader Sung Jae-Im is another who will start the day seven strokes off the lead. Im’s third-round 67 was spoilt with three bogeys but the South Korean did score seven birdies. If he can cut out the mistakes, he could force himself into the reckoning by the time Sunday evening rolls around.

After leading round 2 and round 3 it isn’t a surprise to see that Scott Piercy’s odds of -150 are as low as they are. Piercy is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour and handled the pressure of his three-stroke lead yesterday with a real sense of calmness.
He will start today with a four-shot lead and very much is the man in charge. If Piercy can play par golf he will surely bring home the title.
Tony Finau +450 will be wanting to post another low total and win his first tournament of the season. Finau did what he needed to do yesterday but still has a five-shot deficit to overcome. He will need to produce another special round and hope the pressure gets to the leader if he is to land the third PGA title of his career.
The value of the day could lie with Emiliano Grillo +525. Grillo has been playing some solid golf of late and will be in today’s final pairing alongside Piercy. With nothing to lose he will be hoping that he can take advantage of any errors that Piercy might make.
