The fans in Minneapolis, Minnesota, saw another fun day of golf on Saturday, which saw a new leader at the top. Cameron Tringale has taken over the lead as they head to the final day at TPC Twin Cities. The 33-year-old is looking for his second professional win on the PGA Tour.
Cameron Tringale shot a five under 66 on Saturday to move to -12 for the tournament. That is one shot ahead of a pair of guys.
Gary Woodland and Maverick McNealy are the two guys just behind Cameron Tringale. Woodland, the former Kansas Jayhawks golfer, has had a down season and is currently 76th on the world rankings. The 37-year-old has four career wins and has been in the Top 10 46 times in his career. This would be his first win of the 2021 golf season and third Top 10 finish.
Maverick McNealy played college golf at his hometown of Stanford, California. He turned pro back in 2017 and has never won a PGA event. He has finished in the top 10 twice this season and five times in his career. McNealy played a very strong round of golf with three birdies and not a single bogey.
Pat Perez, Cam Champ, Jimmy Walker, Chez Reavie, Jhonattan Vegas, Roger Sloan, Ryan Armour, and Charl Schwartzel are all tied for fourth at -10. The best round of the day came from Bo Hossler, with a -6.
Other notables in the field include Rickie Fowler, who is -6 for the tournament, and tied for 29th, Patrick Reed, who received word he would be heading for Tokyo following this event; and Tony Finau are also both -6 on the weekend.
