Dick’s Sporting Goods Open Odds, Field & Betting Picks

With the hustle and bustle of last week’s US Open now over, several of the very best PGA Tour Champions players return to action in this year’s Dick’s Sporting Goods Open.

Taking place at the scenic En-Joie Golf Course, several former major winners will be looking for a big week to boost their rankings in the standings for the Charles Schwab Cup.

Ahead of what is bound to be three fantastic days of action here are some players to keep an eye on.

PGA Tour Odds

The Favorites

Leading the betting for this year’s Dicks Sporting Goods Open is three-time major winner Padraig Harrington.

The winner of this event last year, Harrington has enjoyed some tremendous success since transitioning to the Champions Tour. A winner of last year’s U.S Senior Open, Harrington has shown numerous times this season that he can still compete with some of the best golfers in the world and he was able to finish 27th at last week’s US Open.

Clearly the form man in the field, he could take all of the beating this week.

Harrington’s former European Ryder Cup teammate Miguel Angel Jimenez comes next in the betting.

Somewhat of a veteran when it comes to the Champions Tour, Jimenez has 14 Champions Tour wins as well as two Senior Major Championships.

Without a win since last season’s Boeing Classic, Jimenez is certainly not short of form having placed inside the top ten in seven of his last eight starts. Whilst he may not have the power of some of his younger rivals, he certainly still has the class and could be a great value option this week.

Ernie Els is a four-time major winner and has achieved well over fifty wins all over the world. Another who has found the step up to the Senior Tour straightforward, Els has three wins including in this year’s Hoag Classic.

A classy operator, look for him to play a huge role in proceedings this week.

Value bets

Twice a Senior Major Championship winner, Paul Broadhurst could be an attractive value play this week.

A winner of five Champions Tour tournaments, Broadhurst last tasted success back in 2018, but came close to ending his title drought when finishing second in the American Family Insurance Championship just a few weeks ago.

That performance showed that Broadhurst is clearly hitting the ball well and he should be a player to keep an eye on this week.

Thongchai Jaidee finished third in this tournament last year, losing to Padraig Harrington by just three strokes.

A winner of last year’s American Family Insurance Championship, Jaidee has had a rough year only finishing inside the top twenty once in the whole of 2023.

Searching for a big performance, a return to a course and setup he clearly likes could result in a big performance.

Despite his advancing years Vijay Singh still hits as many golf balls as those at the top of the men’s game. Now into the twilight of his career, Singh was able to finish fifth in this event last year.

Whilst he has mostly struggled on the Champions Tour this season, he does have two top-ten finishes in his last eight starts. Another who may benefit from returning to a course he has success on could be worth a small play.
