European Tour returns to London Golf Club in Kent, England, for the first time since 2014 with the inaugural Cazoo Classic, the last even in a six-leg United Kingdom swing by the European pros.
The event will be played on the Heritage Course at London, which is a Jack Nicklaus-designed, par-72 course that measures in at 7,802 yards. Most tee shots reward accuracy over length, and greens are well-protected by bunkers and water.
Bernd Wiesberger and Andy Sullivan are the favorites at +1400. He has eight wins on the European Tour, including one at the Made in HimmerLand in Denmark this past May. Sullivan, an Englishman, has four wins on the tour, including the English Championship last August, which he won by seven strokes after shooting a then-European Tour record of 257 over the 72 holes.
Masahiro Kawamura is next at +1500, and he’s been playing consistently well as of late. He was fifth at the Cazoo Open in Wales last month, tied for third at the ISPS Handa World Invitational, and finished 15th at the Hero Open last week but finished strong with a final-round 64 at Fairmont St. Andrews.
Richard Bland (+2000) won his first European Tour title this year at age 48, and he’s been playing some of his best golf overall, sitting tied for the lead halfway through the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines in June. After his win at the Betfred British Masters, he has two top-five finishes, so another win could be right around the corner.
Grant Forrest, who won the Hero Open last week for his first European Tour title, is somewhat of a longshot here, going off at +4000.
