2021 Northern Trust Betting Odds After Day 3
Monday, August 23rd, 2021
The final round at the 2021 Northern Trust is set to be a memorable one whenever it finally gets played. The event finished up on Saturday and was then postponed on Sunday with thoughts of playing early Monday morning. The weather in the New Jersey area has been less than ideal, and now a late morning re-start on Monday is the latest update. Here are a few of the betting favorites heading into the final round of the 2021 Northern Trust, according to our friends at Jazz Sports!
Jon Rahm +135
Rahm has played really solid golf all weekend, leading after each day so far. There is no doubt that he is one of the elite players in the game of golf. Will another round of solid golf be enough to take down this event? While Rahm would love to win every event, he is certainly not going to be affected by the FedEx Cup standings, as he is in for the long haul.
Cam Smith +300
What a round Cam Smith shot on Saturday! Course record -11, and now he is tied for the lead. His ability to navigate the course has been impressive. What will the day off do to him after the scorching Saturday? That’s what we will find out on Monday.
Justin Thomas +800
Another elite golfer near the top of the leaderboard. While it has not been an excellent season for Thomas in 2021, he still is a threat to win any event, any weekend. Thomas has done a fantastic job anytime he has found trouble. Even on Friday, when he struggled to start the round, he fought back and got himself right back into it.
Erik Van Rooyen +1200
A relative unknown, the 31-year-old from South Africa has been outstanding this weekend. He is currently ranked 76th in the world and would love to sneak into the Top 70 for next weekend’s event. Van Rooyen has one career win on tour but has been inside the Top 10- 5 times, with 3 of those coming this season.
Tony Finau +1200
Another guy that has not really been great this season, by his standards, is Tony Finau. But, like Justin Thomas, he is always a threat to win an event. He is ranked 23rd in the rankings, so he should be safe for the next couple of weeks, but a win in New Jersey would be icing on the cake for the 31-year-old from Salt Lake.
Enjoy the final round of the 2021 Northern Trust. It should be a great final day before the golfers head to the BMW Championship later this week. Oh, and if you want to go outside of the Top 5 in betting terms, here are a few others to consider:
