PGA Championship Round 3 Highlights + Round 4 Odds

For the second successive Major, Brooks Koepka will head into the final round at the top of the leaderboard.  Here the PGA Championship Round 3 Highlights + Round 4 Odds.

PGA Championship Round 3 Highlights

Koepka who at one stage was four strokes clear at the Masters, will be hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself here and that he can hold onto win his third PGA Championship and his fifth major.

The American will start his final eighteen holes leading by one shot on -6. In hot pursuit of the American are Corey Connors and Viktor Hovland who will tee off on -5. Bryson DeChambeau is a further two shots behind on -3, with former major winners Justin Rose and Scottie Scheffler rounding out the top five on -2.

Rain no issue for Koepka as Scheffler struggles

Heading into yesterday’s third round many expected Scottie Scheffler to kick on and cement his position at the top of the leaderboard. However, with the rain hammering down, Scheffler seemed to really struggle in the conditions and would drop shots in his first two holes.

More frustration would follow on the 6th and 7th holes with the world number two dropping a further two strokes back. From there it would be pars all the way until a birdie would break the sequence on the 14th.

Having started the day in the lead, a disappointing round of +3 has left Scheffler with plenty to do if he is to win his first major since last year’s Masters.

Whilst Scheffler was struggling, Brooks Koepka seemed to be reveling in the tricky conditions. Twice a winner of this tournament, Koepka had the ball under his spell throughout his third round.

Unerringly accurate off the tee, Koepka’s iron play was nothing short of sensational. With birdie looks on almost every hole, the four-time major winner sunk a huge putt on the 17th hole to take the outright lead.

His round of 66 was one of the best performances of the year given how hard the conditions were. If Koepka can match that level of performance today it will take something truly special to stop him.

Despite Koepka’s presence at the top of the leaderboard, there are many who will believe they will be victorious at the end of play today.

Corey Connors and Viktor Hovland started yesterday’s third round leading alongside Scheffler and both produced some solid golf yesterday to ensure they maintained their positions at the top.

The same can be said of Bryson DeChambeau.

The first-round leader, many were expecting the American to fall away but his short game has been exceptional and he will believe he can overturn the three-shot deficit he currently faces.

PGA Championship Round 4 Betting Preview

With conditions set to remain tricky and the weather still, to be challenging, any players that currently find themselves under par will still believe that this could be their year.

Brooks Koepka is the favorite and the American looks in great shape to win a fifth major. Despite drama taking place around him, Koepka seems to have an amazing ability to block out the noise and remain calm. A class above the rest of the field yesterday, every element of Koepka’s game looks to be in complete control. Often such an effective front-runner, he is, without doubt, the man they will all need to beat today.

For the second round in succession, Viktor Hovland will start as the second favorite. Hovland showed everything good and bad about his game yesterday. Effective with driver and irons in hand, it was his putting that let him down when he needed the most. Leaving several crucial putts out on the course, he has to putt better if he is to win a first major title.

Corey Connors has been up with the leaders since round 1 but seemed to struggle when the going got hot yesterday. The leader for much of round 3, he succumbed to the pressure when recording a poor double bogey on the par 4 16th. Another who struggled with the flat stick yesterday will need to be more aggressive if he is to keep tabs on some of the game’s best.

For the second week in succession, Scottie Scheffler failed to take advantage of leading at the halfway stage of a tournament. Scheffler looked sluggish yesterday and made some uncharacteristic errors. Heading into today four strokes behind Koepka he has little room for errors if he is to climb back up the leaderboard.
