Glover continues to surprise as rivals circle

Lucas Glover has been the form man on the PGA Tour over the last month. Posting top five finishes in both the Rocket Mortgage Classic and Barbasol Championship, Glover forced his way into the playoffs with a brilliant victory at last week’s Wyndham Championship

The former U.S Open champion has dropped just one shot through his first 36 holes and clinched the second round lead after a superb eagle on the par 5 sixteenth hole.

Teeing off in today’s final group will be first round leader Jordan Spieth. Having looked to have finally recovered from his nagging wrist injury, Spieth’s woes with the driver returned as his round of 68 included six birdies but four bogeys. It was a frustrating day for the Texan who will still harbor serious hopes of winning his first title since the 2022 RBC Heritage

A group of five sit two shots off the lead. Headlined by Tom Kim, Tommy Fleetwood and Sungjae Im, they ensured that they all stayed in contention with rounds of 68, 66 and 65 respectively.

Lurking behind on -7 are Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Both will have high hopes of moving up the leaderboard today.

St Jude Championship Round 3 Betting Preview

Despite sitting three strokes off the lead, world number one Scottie Scheffler will start today as the favorite.

The first two rounds have been reflective of the American’s year as a whole – without playing his best golf he finds himself within touching distance of the lead.

Although the wins haven’t come as regularly as Scheffler would have liked, his consistency has been incredible with the Texan posting top five finishes in seven of his last eight starts. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him end today on top.

Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth come next in the betting.

The defending FedEx champion, McIlroy boosted the chances of regaining his FedEx title with a win at the Scottish Open. Having been a model of consistency in recent weeks, you have to go back to the Wells Fargo Championship to see the last time he finished outside of the top ten.

Jordan Spieth has struggled this season thanks in part to a nagging injury. Having missed the cut in three of his last five tournaments Spieth looks to have finally overcome his injury issues, but golfing trubles remain. Errant drives off the tee cost him vital shots yesterday but he still finds himself bang in contention just one stroke back.

Despite leading the tournament, Lucas Glover can be backed at a great price. Playing some of the best golf of his career, Glover continues to make crucial putts with regular ease. There doesn’t seem to be any pressure on the big Americans shoulders and he represents some truly terrific value.
