United States golfer Will Zalatoris attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina and was ACC player of the year in 2017.
That same year he also was named to the Walker Cup team that included Colin Morikawa and Cameron Champ. Will Zalatoris turned professional in 2018 after his junior year in college but failed to make it past the First Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Q School.
During the 2019 season, he had to rely on sponsor’s exemptions and Monday qualifying until he finished third In the LECOM Health. He finished the season in 60th place on the Korn Ferry tour and achieved his tour card.
His first professional victory occurred in July of 2020 when he captured the TPC Colorado Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. Will Zalatoris gained PGA TOUR status as a Special Temporary Member later in 2020 and collected enough non-member FedExCup points to earn full-time membership for the 2020-21 season.
In the 2021 season, he recorded eight top-10s and made 21 cuts in 25 starts, highlighted by a runner-up at the 2021 Masters Tournament behind Hideki Matsuyama. Zalatoris was named Rookie of the Year for the 2020-2021 season
Will Zalatoris has enjoyed his best year so far in 2022. In January, he tied for the lead of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego after 72 holes but lost a sudden-death playoff to Luke List.
In May of 2022, Zalatoris finished second behind Justin Thomas in the PGA Championship held at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The players were tied after 72 holes but Thomas dominated the three-hole playoff to win the Wanamaker Trophy.
In June at the US Open, he tied for second with Scottie Scheffler behind Mathew Fitzpatrick. This result moved him to twelfth in the World Rankings despite the fact he has never won an event on the PGA Tour.
