All day Sunday, everyone was just waiting for Jon Rahm to take control of the American Express and coast to his second-straight win to open the year. But through 15 holes in the final round, he was still tied with rookie Davis Thompson.

Rahm birdied 16 and Thompson was unlucky on 17 when his birdie putt hit the flag stick. Rahm won his 4th tournament in his past ten starts and moved to number three in the world.

Victor Perez wins the Abu Dhabi in a dramatic fashion

Victor Perez produced a dramatic finish in the final round of the 2023 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship to overcome a high-class chasing pack and win his maiden Rolex Series title. The win was the 3rd on the European Tour for the Frenchman and moved him to 29th in the world rankings.

Coming up this week in the PGA Tour is the Farmers Insurance Open

The PGA tour heads to San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open and Jon Rahm gets right back to work after another victory when he leads a strong 2023 Farmers Insurance Open field, starting Wednesday at Torrey Pines.

Jon Rahm is a prohibitive favorite at 9/2 with our pick of the week Xander Schauffele along with Collin Morikawa and Tony Finau at 12/1. Rounding out the top 5 is Justin Thomas at 13/1.
