It was an exciting weekend of golf events around the world. Let us dive into the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship Highlights. Also, let’s look at the picks for AT&T Byron Nelson and LIV Golf Tulsa.
The PGA tour was in Charlotte for the Wells Fargo Championship and the winner was Wyndham Clark who had 133 starts without a victory. Xander Schauffelle finished second with Harris English and Tyrell Hatton in 3rd. The four-shot victory was brilliant but here is a list of all the extras the 29 years got by winning a designated event.
Clark picked up a 3.6 million dollar winner’s check and the win also got him a spot in the 2023 PGA Championship, US Open, and the British Open. He also now will be playing in the 2024 Tournament of Champions. The Players Championship, The Masters, and all designated events. And just for good measure, he is now 31st in the World Rankings.
This week’s stop on the PGA tour is in Dallas for the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship. Since next week is the PGA Championship many of the top players have chosen to take the week off and AT&T-sponsored golfer Jordan Spieth is hurt the field lost the second-highest-ranked golfer.
Scottie Scheffler is the prohibitive favorite at 3/1. Next on the board is Tyrell Hatton at 14/1. Jason Day, Tom Kim and Hideki Matsuyama are all at 15/1.
Two-time defending champion K H Lee is 25/1 and Korean golfers have this event four different times based on that our pick this week is Min Woo Lee at 25/1.
The LIV Tour is back in action and they will be in Tulsa Oklahoma for this week’s event. Talor Gooch has won the last two events and co-favored with Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith at 10/1. Dustin Johnson and Joaquin Niemann round out the top 5 at 15/1.
