Bermuda Championship Rounds 1 & 2 Recap and Rd 3 Odds

The 2023 PGA season is winding to a close with just two stops left on this year’s calendar. Although this week’s Bermuda Championship may lack some star power, its significance shouldn’t be understated as it offers a final opportunity for those down the FedEx standings to secure their Tour cards for next season.

Alex Noren holds onto lead through the halfway stage of Bermuda Championship

First round leader Alex Noren held onto his lead during yesterday’s second round.

Having just dropped one shot so far this week, the ten time DP World Tour backed up his stunning first round 61 with a steady 66. It’s been somewhat of a comeback year for the Swede who despite not winning, has posted several top ten finishes.

Trailing Noren by two strokes are a trio of players – Ryan Brehm, Satoshi Kodaira and Ryan Moore.

Both Moore and Kodaira excelled yesterday, shooting rounds of 64 and 65 respectively, with both keeping their cards bogey free.

Brehm’s day was a little bit more eventful, with the world number 539 posting eight birdies and two bogeys in a dramatic round.

Teeing off three behind Noren is Camilo Villegas. Villegas has backed up his performance at last week’s World Wide Technology Championship where he finished in a tie for second.

He will hope to go one place better this weekend.

Bermuda Championship Round 3 Betting Preview

With his two stroke lead, Alex Noren is the massive favorite for victory.

A nine time winner on the DP World Tour, Noren is the most accomplished winner in the field, although has yet to taste success on the PGA Tour. He came close to his first win just a few weeks ago at the Shriners Children’s Open where he finished third and has continued that good form here.

Having just dropped one shot all week, his game is clearly in fine working order and if he can bring that momentum into the weekend he could be a tough man to stop.

Hoping to chase Noren down is Ryan Moore, who of all the players teeing off in the chasing pack is the most fancied in the betting.

2023 has been a year of misery, with Moore having missed the cut in 16 of his 23 starts. Battling for his PGA future, he will need a win this weekend to ensure he can remain on golf’s premier Tour next season.

Completing the top three in the betting are the pair of Akshay Bhatia and Brendon Todd.

Bhatia made his PGA breakthrough when winning the 2023 Barracuda Championship. Showing that he is more than capable of putting birdie streaks together, he won’t be phased by the four shot deficit he currently faces.

Brendon Todd was a winner of this title back in 2019 and has put himself in a great position to repeat the feat this year. Also four back, he will hope to use his experience and knowledge of this course to fire himself up the leaderboard.
